Remembered reading about SNFU in Flipside magazie and bought the record, kick fucking ass record, still rules to this day. Chi Pig kicked ass, killer vocals, fast and tight, it ruled.
Even better was getting to see them in March of '87 in Long Beach at Fenders.
With the greatest hardcore/metal crossover band ever Corrosion of Conformity (Ok to be honest, COC and DRI are totally matched with that title for me) and BL'AST.

That night was crazy, bands were killer and my buddy Pete decided to drop acid for the first time and sat in a corner talking to a piece of duct tape, all nite long...

What a show! I never got to see B'last and it bums me out everyday.
Fantastic band... opened for them in New Mexico in 87... they were not playing with COC at the time... small show and we were a small local band (that never went anywhere, but sure did have fun). Also, can't beat an album with a Diane Arbus photo on the cover!
I'll never forget a lesson about judging a book by it's cover taught by C.O.C in 1984.
We were at a Circle Jerks show at the old 9:30 club in Washington DC and this opening band called COC from North Carolina who we (or anyone in DC at that time) had ever heard of were setting up. Double kick drums and a HUGE drum kit being setup by a bunch of "longhairs"...
Being the snobby little harDCore punks that we were, we all rolled our eyes sayin' "oh fucking great, A fucking Judas Priest wankfest coming up"...
Well.... As any of you who have heard the original 3 piece COC with Mike Dean on bass/vocals live will know, The sound that came off that stage was like nothing ever before (or since).
I've kept an open mind about everything in life ever since.
